This training includes four parts.

 

Part 1: Scientific content writing

In this part, you will learn and gain experience in scientific content writing. You will work on writing tasks to enhance your scientific writing skills. The tasks include writing and editing scientific content and documents. It will help you develop a deep understanding of scientific content. 

 

Part 2: Scientific reports

You will gain skills in editing scientific reports and documents. You will also understand issues and challenges associated with scientific report editing that may occur in your future work.

 

Part 3: Quality control processes

In this part, you will gain experience in quality control processes in content editing/writing. You will be provided with tasks and learning material to enhance your knowledge and understanding of quality control assessment. 

 

Part 4: Project management

You will learn about managing your projects through challenging tasks. You will also gain experience in understanding project management principles and applying them to your project.  

Design & Delivery 

 

This online training is delivered on our virtual learning platform (Moodle). The training is self-paced and it can be completed on your own schedule within 2 months. The training includes learning material, ebooks, and challenging tasks. It will not include compulsory live lectures or sessions. This training is designed in collaboration with the leaders and researchers of Cambridge Centre for Innovation and Development, UK, and collaborators of Laboratory Skills Development Centre, London.

Entry Requirements

 

This training is designed for all levels of degree students, professionals, and/or non-degree industry professionals. Background in science, ideally biology, medicine, biomedical science, and/or related areas is recommended. You must have good English language reading and writing skills. The mentioned requirement is for guidance only.

Fees

 

UK and International: £319 (including electronic certificate).

Duration

 

Initial training duration is 2 months (8 weeks) included in the fee.

However, you will have an option to further extend the training duration and extend your experience. Further details on duration extension will be provided during training.

Certificate

 

After successfully completing all the parts of your virtual work training, you will be provided with an e-certificate of work-based training completion.

The duration of your training on e-certificate also depends on your training extension duration and tasks completed during the extended period. Therefore, you can have a long-term experience as an 'Academic Editor' if you stay part of the training for a longer period.

Q. Can I complete this training along with my full-time work or study?

A. Yes, this training can be completed online part-time along with other full-time studies or work. You will receive access to our online platform, which you can access anytime on your own schedule to complete the training within 2 months (8 weeks).

 

Q. Do you offer scholarships?

A. Unfortunately, we do not offer scholarships.

 

Q. I have paid the registration fee, when I will get my registration confirmation email?

A. You will receive the payment receipt from PayPal instantly after paying the registration fee. You will also receive a confirmation of registration email within 24 hours to your payment email address.

 

Q. Is my place in the training guaranteed after I pay the registration fee?

A. Yes, you will receive the registration confirmation email and you will be able to start the training on your training start date. Please note, if all the available places are filled then we will close the registration on our website, and you can no longer register or pay the registration fee.
